Welcome 2011

I don't like to make "resolutions", but I do have goals that I want to make for this year.

in 2011 I will...

Get in shape. I've lost all the baby weight and then some, but I don't feel in shape at all and I need to start exercising again. I always make excuses about how hard it is to find the time and right now how stinkin cold it is outside to run, but I'm going to stop making excuses and just do it. I want to run a 5K this year...or hopefully more than one and I want to enjoy running. The whole family is doing a 5K on the 8th, but it's for the kid's school and I'm sure it will be more of a walk since they're doing it with us. I don't think I can count that as doing a 5K can I? hehe...probably not.

Create more. I love scrapbooking, but like always it's hard to find the time. I am going to set time aside for me because honestly I'm happier when I get that in and I'm happy when I get a page done because it's memories preserved. I am thinking about submitting too, and that would mean getting a lot more organized. For now I'm just going to create and see where that takes me.

Pray. always. I'm more at peace when I stop and pray throughout the day. Sometimes I fall out of the habit though and it's usually when I'm stressed. Go figure. I'm going to start doing bible study with Patrick again too. We struggled with finding time at night to do it. There's always kids getting up or dishes needing done, but it's time that we need to make.Which leads me to my next goal...

Date. Spend more time alone with my husband. Leave the kids with Grandma like we did tonight and just enjoy each other's company. And sleep...glorious sleeeep. I haven't slept through the night since I got pregnant with Cohen and last night was his first night away from us. He did fine and it was so nice to get a full night of sleep. WILL be doing that more. hehee. I think Cohen's goal for this year should be sleeping through the night. Bless his heart he's only a year and a half. note the sarcasm.

Read. Before I had kids I always had a book or two that I was reading at any given time, and after? not so much. I miss it, so my goal is to start reading chapter books to the kids (Landon and I started one last week actually) and to read a bit every day just for me. I also want to get shelves up in our living room and get my books out of tubs.

Simplify. pretty self explanatory. I'm tired of having stuff around that I don't need. tired of cleaning it. tired of moving it around from room to room. It's time to get rid of anything we don't use or need.

My one little word for 2011 is balance. Finding the balance to do all of these and be the best wife and mother that I can be. I can do it. Welcome 2011.
